Third Entry 4/20/08
A new, more formal dimension is being added to the Coffeehouse. First of all, we've added something to the name of the event: It is now the "Jesus is Coming Soon" Coffeehouse. Second, from now on, every Friday night we'll have a brief live Prophetic Teaching by William D. Brehm, the principle author of this site and host of the Coffeehouse. It will be done in a lecture/discussion format in which the audience will be free to ask questions and express their own opinions. We'll still have the great informal discussions we've been having, and we will still hopefully have live Christian music, etc. as often as possible. We're still looking for more people to perform. William D. Brehm has been teaching the Bible and Prophecy at the adult level for nearly thirty years, in places ranging from a church, the Lamb's Manhattan Church of the Nazarene, where he was on staff for over 14 years, to, believe it or not, the stables of Yonkers and Meadowlands Raceways. Most of his teaching has been about effective Christian living. However, he believes his specific calling as a Bible teacher is to teach about Second Coming Prophecy. From now on, that will happen every Friday night if possible.
Second Entry 3/6/08
We've continued to be hampered by bad weather. Also, it has become a concern of mine that I've been missing phone calls inquiring about the Coffeehouse. Therefore, I've obtained a new cell phone just for taking such calls. The number is 646-385-5822. One other thing: You may have noticed a slight change in the name of the event. It is now the "Jesus Is Coming Soon" Coffeehouse. Dennis, one of the brothers who helps run the Coffeehouse, has suggested that the words "Coming Soon" by themselves may be confusing people. So I decided to make it perfectly clear what this is about.
Please pray that the Lord will bless us and give us a good turnout and good weather in the coming weeks.
Our sister Andrea Eden will be performing for us again in the near future.
First Entry - 2/23/08
We've been up and running for all of five weeks now. In that time, we have been hampered by bad weather and by the passing of a close relative of one of our supporters. Nevertheless, we are running and have already been blessed by the ministry of two Christian artists; singer/songwriter Andrea Eden of Valley Stream, NY, and poet/evangelist Brother Rex of Jersey City, NJ. We've also had some great open forum discussions. We're looking for more Christian artists and for Christians just to come and participate. Come and bring a friend.
